Canoeing

Photo of campers canoeing.

This program encompasses campers learning the basics about canoeing beginning on our on-site pond and progressing as they practice on local waterways in the area: Marsh Creek, French Creek, and the Brandywine River. Campers are taught the parts of the canoe and paddle, how to safely enter a canoe and put on a life jacket, switch positions in a canoe, and what to do if they were ever to tip in a canoe (they practice tipping on site in our pool). Each two week session culminates with Canoeing Olympics held on our pond at camp so campers can showcase their skills. The canoeing program at Bournelyf is offered for sessions 1 and 2 only, comprised of eight campers each session.

Offered Session 1: June 28, 2010—July 9, 2010

Offered Session 2: July 12, 2010—July 23, 2010

Fee: $600
